Cremation ovens at the Buchenwald concentration
Cremation ovens at the Buchenwald concentration camp near Jena, Germany, April 16, 1945. Prisoners from all over Europe and the Soviet Union worked as forced labor in local armaments factories. Most deaths were caused from malnutrition, overwork and harsh conditions. It was liberated by the by 6th Armored Division, US Third Army, on April 11, 1945, World War 2 (BSLOC_2015_13_5)
