Dale Creek Bridge, in Sherman, Wyoming, 1885. This iron bridge was built in 1876 by the Union Pacific Railway. The girder spans and granite abutments were added in 1885. It was a high and dangerous crossing, requiring trains to slow down to 4 mph to prevent wind from blowing empty boxcars off the tracks
