David Abbott Ab Jenkins and the Mormon Meteor III on the Bonneville Salt Flats, ca. 1940. Meteor III was built in 1937 to handle the large Curtiss Conqueror airplane engine. It set a 24 hour record of 161.180 mph in 1940 that held until 1990. (CSU_2015_11_1302)
