DIANA AND ACTAEON, by Camille Corot, 1836, French painting, oil on canvas. The goddess Diana, points as the hunter Actaeon approaches the goddess and her nymphs enjoying a woodland bath. As Diana turns him into a deer, he sprouts antlers on his still human head. Most of the canvas is painted in Corots neoclassical style, except for the left distance, which the picture?s new owner asked him to rework in 1874 (BSLOC_2017_9_88)
