Donald Campbell was killed his jet powered boat, Bluebird K7, on Lake Coniston. Jan. 4, 1967. Campbell died strapped into cockpit of his bullet-shaped speedboat when it somersaulted 60 feet into the air at more than 300 mph. 1. Bluebird K7 begins to leave the surface of the water. 2. Boat leaves water at sharp angle like jet plane taking off. 3. Craft reaches near vertical position. 4. Bluebird twists and begins downward plunge. - (CSU_2015_5_19)
