Dr. Clara Barrus at Woodchuck Lodge, the summer home of John Burroughs, c. 1910. When they met in 1901, she was 33, and Burroughs 64 and married to Ursula North. They were soon lovers and lived together after Ursula's death in 1917. After Burroughs death in 1921, she became his literary executer and biographer (BSLOC_2016_10_15)
