The Drunken Couple, Jan Steen, 1655, Dutch painting, oil on panel. A man and woman are so drunk that they are unaware they are being robbed. On the wall is a print of an owl depicted between a candle or eyeglasses. Owls were then considered stupid, as is the drunken couple (BSLOC_2016_3_172)
