Edward Miner Gallaudet was the president of Gallaudet College for the deaf from 1864?1910. He followed his father, Rev. Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet, who established the Connecticut Asylum for the Education and Instruction of Deaf and Dumb Persons in Hartford in 1817 (BSLOC_2016_10_13)
