Evalyn Walsh Mclean wearing the Hope Diamond, ca. 1912. The wealthy young couple, Edward and Evalyn Mclean, purchased the Hope Diamond in 1911. She did not connect the several tragedies of her life with the diamond, and kept and wore the stone until her death in 1947. (BSLOC_2013_9_228)
