First Battle of Bull Run, (First Manassas), July 21, 1861. Capture of Ricketts Battery by Confederates on Henry House Hill at around 3 PM. After Union Gen. McDowell ordered Griffin's and Ricketts batteries moved from Dogans Ridge to Henry House Hill, they were captured in hand to hand combat by two Confederate regiments. Captain Ricketts received 4 bullet wounds and taken prisoner at this turning point of the battle
