First meeting of George Washington and Alexander
First meeting of George Washington and Alexander Hamilton during the American Revolution, took place at the Battle of New York in 1776. Washington recognized Hamiltons organization skills as he commanded soldiers building an earthwork at Harlem Heights. Soon Hamilton came under Washingtons direct command. 1859 engraving after a painting by Alonzo Chappel
