First Sino-Japanese War, between China and Japan
First Sino-Japanese War, between China and Japan ended with the Treaty of Shimonoseki. Singed on April 17, 1894, China recognized the independence of Korea. Japanese received sovereignty of the Liaodong Peninsula, Taiwan and Penghu Islands. China was also required to pay Japan reparations of 200 million taels of silver (BSLOC_2017_18_86)
