Gangster Johnny Rosselli (right) checks a writ of habeas corpus with his lawyer, Frank Desimone. On July 28, 1948 Rosselli surrendered to the U.S. Marshalls for violation of parole. Rosselli served 3 years of a 10 year sentence for a $1, 000, 000 movie industry shakedown in 1943. Rosselli was part the Chicago Outfit that worked Hollywood and the Las Vegas Strip for the mob.
