German construction battalion, building the Westwall, ca. 1938. Also called the Siegfried Line, it was a system of defensive positions in western Germany. Workers were in the Organization Todt, was civil and military engineering group, lead by Fritz Todt which also built the Autobahn. (BSLOC_2013_9_193)
