German sailors and marine infantry storm the Dagu (Tagu, Taku) Forts on June 17, 1900. They were part of a five nation force that attacked at night, taking the forts guarding the mouth of the Peiho River, in Northwest China. With this aggressive attack, the Boxer Rebellion became an international war. The 1963 movie, 55 DAYS AT PEKING, was based on the war (BSLOC_2017_20_19)
