The Grand Drive, Central Park, New York City, 1869. Frederick Law Olmsted designed six miles of picturesque roads to be shared by both equestrians and carriages. For pedestrians, there were twenty-eight miles of landscaped paths. The Gothic revival building at right is the NY State Militia Arsenal, now part of the Central Park Zoo
