The gray bearded Mexican Constitutionalist, Venustiano Carranza, with Gen. Alvaro Obregon on his right, in 1916. Carranza would assume the Mexican presidency from 1917 to his assassination in 1920, to be briefly succeeded by Adolfo de la Huerta. alvaro Obregon won the 1920 presidential election, but lost reelection on 1924, but won again in 1928, only to be assassinated before taking office
