The Harvesters, by Pieter Bruegel the Elder (circa 1525-1569), Dutch, Northern Renaissance oil painting. This is a purely secular and descriptive landscape painting with realist depictions of peasants harvesting grain. It is one of six seasonal landscapes commissioned by the Antwerp merchant Niclaes Jongelinck. Five of them still survive (BSLOC_2017_16_120)
