Helen Wills and Bill Tilden seated in the grandstand at Forest Hills, Long Island, NYC. Aug. 10, 1926. They are watching the Davis Cup Trials. Tilden was playing the U.S. Singles Tennis Championships. Wills attempted a comeback from her recent appendectomy, but lost two matches, and withdrew on the advice of her doctor.
