Housewives demonstrate at a meat market in New York City to protest the high cost of meat. At 10th St. and 1st Ave. on Aug. 11, 1948. They advocate a week long boycott of meat purchases. WW2 and Postwar inflation raised prices in USA, but this also reduced the WW2 Nation Debt and set the stage for the economic growth of the 1950s. (BSLOC_2014_13_187)
