Hubert Julian was the only licensed Black aviator
Hubert Julian was the only licensed Black aviator in America. He is in the cockpit of a Bellanca Roma, in his first flying exhibition at the Bellanca field, at Newcastle, Delaware, August 2, 1931. He was sponsored by Giuseppe Mario Bellanca, the famous plane designer. (CSU_2015_8_634)
