Imperial Russian battleship Pallada struck by a 500 lb. Japanese shell in Port Arthur, Dec. 1904. White smoke rises from the ship blockaded in the Harbor of Port Arthur. After Japanese forces captured 306 Metre Hill overlooking the harbor, they systematically destroyed the trapped Russian Pacific Fleet with 11-inch howitzer shells (BSLOC_2017_18_104)
