Jackie Mitchell, female pitcher, struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig on April 2, 1931. She pitched to them during a Yankees vs. Chattanooga Lookouts exhibition game. Within days, commissioner Kennesaw Mountain Landis voided her contract and declared baseball to strenuous for women. (BSLOC_2013_9_22)
