Joseph Warren, a Boston physician, was a pre-revolutionary political writer and orator. He was a close friend of radical Samuel Adams, and drafted the Suffolk Resolves in April 1775 to fight the Coercive Acts, imposed by the British after the Boston Tea Party of Dec. 1773
