Lady Bird Johnson, with White House cook Zephyr Wright on May 5, 1966. As a young women, Wright became the housekeeper and cook for Lady Bird Johnson and remained with the LBJ family for decades. Her husband Sammy was the Johnsons chauffeur. At the signing ceremony for the Civil Rights Act of 1964, LBJ gave her the signing pen, saying, You deserve this more than anybody else.
