Mary Dickinson Riddle, a Cassatt family cousin, painted with a gilded blue-and-white Canton porcelain service, she gave to her Cassatt relatives. Mary painted this portrait in response to the gift, but the Riddle family didnt like the painting and it remained in the artists collection (BSLOC_2017_3_145)
