Lizaro Cirdenas, former Mexican president, in 1962. From 1934-1940, he instituted land reform, nationalized the oil industry, converted the Presidential Palace into a National Museum, and cut his Presidential salary in half. Cirdenas remains the most revered Mexican leader of the 20th century
