Lift off of Piccard stratosphere balloon from Ford Airport, at Detroit, on October 23, 1934. It carried Jean Piccard and his wife Jeanette toward the stratosphere. The giant balloon came to earth nearly 10 hours later near Cadiz, Ohio. (CSU_2015_9_1092)
