Major Roland E. Alley (center), a 14 year Army veteran, charged misconduct as a Korean War POW. August 22, 1955. His lawyer, Col. William T. Logan, warned that he was being singled out as a scapegoat while the Army was under pressure for being soft on Communism by Joseph McCarthy. Convicted, he served 3.5 years in Leavenworth. In Sept. 1973, as a successful surveyor in Maine, he sought to have his case reviewed. (CSU_2015_11_1194)
