In May 1864, Confederates destroyed yet another Military railroad bridge over Potomac Creek. This reconstruction started at May 20, 1864, at 5 AM. The first train passed over the bridge May 22, at 4 PM. It was built by US Military Railroad Construction Corps in only 40 working hours
