The last meeting between Gen. Robert E. Lee
The last meeting between Gen. Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson, at the Battle Chancellorsville, during the US Civil War. On the evening of May 2, 1863, Jackson was shot by friendly fire from by Confederate pickets. He survived the shooting, but lost his left arm to amputation. After surgery, weakened by his wounds, he died of pneumonia eight days later
