This member of the U-Ai Nu-Ints, a Ute tribe of Indians, lives on the Rio Virgen, a tributary of the Colorado River, in Southern Utah. He stands in front of a conical primitive shelter supported by an inward leaning circle of vertical branches, partially covered by rough thatch. It is a temporary summer encampment, to be abandoned when the areas food supply is exhausted
