Mercy Otis Warren was a political writer and propagandist for the American Revolution. Warren knew most of the revolutionary leaders, and was involved in the cause from 1765 to 1789. She wrote several plays, including the satiric The Adulateur 1772, that satirized the Royal Governor of Massachusetts, Thomas Hutchinson.
