Mexican American War. US Blockades of ports on Mexicos southeast coast in the state of Tabasco. The US Naval Expedition under Commodore Mathew C. Perry, April 19, 1847. Boats ascend the Tuspan River, destroying the forts, and taking possession of the Port of Tuspan, with the following Vessels: Steamers Spitfires, Vixen, and Scourge; Schooners Reefer, Bonita, Tampico, and Petrel. They were accompanied by a detachment of officers and men in 35 barges from the steamer, Mississippi (Perrys Flagship)
