Millard Fillmore, 13th President of the United
Millard Fillmore, 13th President of the United States, served from 1850 to 1853. He became the second vice president to complete the term of an elected president when Zachary Taylor died on July 9, 1850. Fillmore lost the 1852 Whig presidential nomination to Mexican American War hero, Winfield Scott, who lost the national election to Democrat, Franklin Pierce.
