The Mohave War with the US Army of 1858-59, started by disputes between Indians and Gold Rush immigrants over Mohave stealing settlers cattle, and the settlers harvesting Mohave cottonwood trees. The Mohave were subdued after their rout at the Battle of the Colorado River, August 4, 1859
