New construction at Geary and Stockton Streets, in 1906-07, after the San Francisco earthquake. In center background is the Call Building, the tallest building west of the Mississippi River. It was burned and damaged by the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, and refurbished as the Spreckels Building. In 1938 it took its present form as the Central Tower (BSLOC_2017_17_53)
