Pilots flying the 1935 Bendix Air Race from Burbank, California, to Cleveland, Ohio. L-R: Cecil Allen, Roy Hunt, Jacqueline Cochran, Royal Leonard. Ca. August 28, 1935. Cecil Allen was killed during the race when his plane crashed in a potato field in the fog. Roy Hunt finished 4th, and Jackie Cochran finished 5th. Royal Leonard was forced down with engine trouble and did not complete the race. - (CSU_2015_5_34)
