Prince Souvanna Phouma, Premier of Laos, after meeting with Lao military commanders. March 3, 1970. Laos was disrupted by the Vietnam War on its eastern border and it's own Communist insurgency by the Pathet Lao. Echoing events in Vietnam, in 1975, his neutralist government would be taken over by the Pathet Lao, led by his half-brother Souphanouvong. (CSU_2015_9_1088)
