RECLINING NUDE, by Amedeo Modigliani, 1917, Italian modernist painting, oil on canvas. This is one for several dozen nudes Modigliani painted between 1916 and 1919 on commission from his dealer and friend Leopold Zborowski. The Paris police closed the 1917 exhibition opening for obscenity, but the show reopened after the removal of paintings from the gallerys street front window (BSLOC_2017_7_12)
