Robert Fulton, portrait bust by French sculptor, Jean Antoine Houdon, 1803"04. Houdon made the bust while Fulton was in Paris seeking funding from Napoleon for his submarine invention. The painted plaster bust was commissioned by poet and diplomat, Joel Barlow, a close friend of Houdon
