The second Madison Square Garden was located
The second Madison Square Garden was located just off the northeast corner of Madison Square Park from 1890 to 1925. The building initial cost of 3 million dollars, was funded by investors who included J. P. Morgan, Andrew Carnegie, P. T. Barnum, and William Waldorf Astor. The venue struggled financially until it was torn down in 1925, to be replaced with the landmark New York Life Building designed by Cass Gilbert
