Spaniards attack a native American settlement. This image may represent the 1508 attack of the village of Turbaco, in present-day Columbia, led by Alonso de Ojeda, aided by Diego de Nicuesas fleet. Bartolome de las Casas wrote, that the Spaniards spared no one, before they plundered the village. This 1594 engraving published by Theodor de Bry is based on an image in Girolamo Benzonis, Historia del Mondo Nuovo, Venice, 1565
