Sudley Ford on Bull Run River in March 1862, 8 months after the First Battle of Bull Run (First Manassas). General Irving McDowell crossed Bull Run here on July 21, 1861. He proceeded to attack the extreme left flank of the Confederate battle line. In the background is Sudley Church, and in the foregroun, a child sits on the remains of Sudley Sulphur Springs House.
