Bill Tilden, former tennis champion in Los Angeles
Bill Tilden, former tennis champion in Los Angeles County Jail on January 31, 1949. He was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and violation of probation. Tilden was arrested on the complaint of a 16-year-old hitchhiker, for which Tilden served ten months in prison. He had previously served 7o months incarceration for a similar 1946 incident.
