Treaty of Konondaiqua (Canandaigua), between

Treaty of Konondaiqua (Canandaigua), between the United States and the Tribes of Indians Called the Six Nations at Konondaiqua, New York, was signed on Nov. 11, 1794. It was one of the earliest US treaties with a Native Nation. Each Native delegate signed by drawing an X beside his name. Among the signatures are those of Cornplanter, Red Jacket, and Handsome Lake. President George Washington signed at bottom right. The Treaty restored to the Six Nations lands in western New York State that had been ceded by the Fort Stanwix Treaty
