Former Turkish Sultan Mehmed VI (Mohammed VI) in Malta
Former Turkish Sultan Mehmed VI (Mohammed VI) arrived in Malta on British warship. Dec. 9, 1922. The Turkish Grand National Assembly abolished the Sultanate on Nov. 1, 1922 and expelled Mehmed VI from Istanbul. At left is the sultan's 10-year-old son Prince Ertogrul Effendi. (CSU_2015_11_1551)
