U.S. Marines captured a flag of rebel forces led by Augusto Sandino in 1932. After the Marines supervised the 1932 Presidential election they withdrew to the U.S. in 1933. They never caught Sandio, but he was assassinated in 1934 by National Guard forces of Gen. Anastasio Somoza. (BSLOC_2013_9_105)
