Washington Post reporter Jim Hoagland was beaten at South Carolina State College. Feb.10, 1968. Two days earlier, South Carolina Highway Patrol Officers shot into a crowd of protestors near the historically Black college. Three students were killed and 28 wounded in the Orangeburg Massacre on the evening of Feb. 8, 1968. (CSU_2015_9_878)
