W.E.B. Du Bois, was the intellectual leader of the early 20th century African American civil rights movement. Du Bois led the Niagara Movement, co-founded the NAACP, and edited the CRISIS'. The Niagara movement sought intellectual, political, and legal advancement for African Americans, which countered and competed for resources with Booker T.
